MLK vs Malcom X

These men although fought under the same banner, used very different means of achieving their goals.  They are both idols of their time. Although when you speak of civil rights, the main name to come up is none other than Dr. King’s.  Dr. Kings approach at it was far more successful, and far less questionable. Instead of taking the full on offensive at it like X, he petitioned more towards the side of taking the political aspect of things and used no violence, but words to shape the meaning behind his intention. This made more, and more African American citizens follow behind him, and support his cause. It allowed people to see how what they considered “unlawful” for blacks to have equal rights was actually unconstitutional, and against the very Law of the Land of which they so “loyally” abide to. Meanwhile, Malcom X’s intentions are far more... violent, per say. The mentality that they should shun away from being equal as whites as far as possible by any means is quite disputably idiotic if you ask me. Violence, and crimes to differentiate yourself from your country thinking it’ll give you what your looking for is only going to bring about a far bigger problem for the African American society. So in sum, I believe that the more passive, but yet striking way of Dr. King is stupendously more beneficial to the wants, goals, and needs of the Civil Rights movement.
